Kiwi

We waited for this pup, for a long time. We met her mommy before she was even pregnant. We then followed her as she was pregnant and finally had the puppies. We could not wait, we had planned to get a dog since we got married and we finally did. She didn't even weigh a pound when we got her. She has done really good with potty training and is such a sweet dog. She keeps us company, especially if one of us isn't home.

Car Troubles

Logan and I decided to sale my car, so we just had one car left. He had a honda civic. It started having some problems, we took it to a mechanic, and put a lot of money and repairs into it. We went to California for his best friends wedding about a week later. By the time we got to cedar city our car overheated clear to the red zone and started steaming from the engine. Lovely, we didn't know that this was just the beginning. We took it to another mechanic, he put in a new radiator because our cap wouldn't make a seal. Our car broke down about every two hours, we would just have to pull over, put more fluid in the car, and wait for it to cool down. I thought my brain was going to explode, car troubles are sooooo stressful! We finally got to california 19 1/2 hours later! GAH. We took it to two mechanic and they both assured us that "nothing was wrong", we headed home and an hour later, we had the same problem. Our car broke down multiple times on our way home, but this time it only took us about 15 hours. I was ready to pay someone to take the car away. I thought maybe it would be oaky since we don't drive big distances, but everyday i drove to school it would over heat. We couldn't take the stress anymore, so we sold our car and decided to lease a new car. Wheeeew

Provo

Welcome to happy town! We moved to provo in April, Logan got accepted to go to BYU so we decided to move to provo so he didn't have to commute. My hair school has a school in salt lake and in orem, so I transferred, so that I didn't have to commute either. It was so nice to finally "be on our own"!

Valentines Day

Our first valentines as a married couple, we didn't do too much, but we still had fun spending time together. Logan got me beautiful flowers and I made him a candy sign.

Accidents

Logan was working for a construction company, they were installing a very heavy piece of metal, it fell and cut Logan's arm open. He called me and said hey, so I cut my arm open, i'm okay, but i'm going to the ER and then he had to go. Of course I panicked, not knowing how bad the cut was. I was running an errand and got lost, luckily I found the ER.

Christmas

Christmas is always one of our favorite times of year. We love the spirit of it, the food, the family, the decorations, the giving and gifts. This Christmas was a little crazy, I had just gotten home from Florida from my jaw surgery about 2 weeks before. So, I was still recovering and not feeling the best, at the time we were living at my moms place and i was unable to chew anything because of my jaw surgery. However, we had a great christmas filled with all these magical moments. We also had the honor of meeting on of our lifelong friend, Susan Martin (adam stayed with her family while he was at school in maine). We got to see our family, go to temple square and make fun treats!

Car Accident

I was on my way home from a chiropractor appointment, rehabilitation for my jaw surgery. Luckily I had my “splint” in (a hard plastic retainer type thing that connects on to my braces with elastics and keeps my mouth shut and in place.) I was on I-15 north getting on the south bound (it’s a really messy spot of the freeway), anyways there was traffic, quite a bit of it. I was driving, it was stop and go traffic, the person in front of me stopped so I did too. The girl behind me hit me going about 20mph while I was stopped completely, she hit me so hard that I hit the car in front of me. I was smashed in between two cars. I was really nervous/scared about my jaw. Instantly my neck, back and jaw started hurting. I didn’t want to go get checked out, but I decided with Logan’s help that I should, rather be safe than sorry. They said everything looked okay, but that I should follow up with my jaw doctor and chiropractor. My chiro after about a week took some x-rays (luckily I had some done before the accident so we could compare them.) it was definitely worse, I then followed up with my jaw doctor in florida about 3 weeks later. He took a cat scan, he said that the accident had back tracked me about 3-5 months. I had a ton of back and neck pain for months, it hurt so bad. I ended up having to take a break from school because I would go and start bawling almost everyday after about an hour in pain. i'm so glad that my heavenly father was watching over me and that it wasn't any worse!

Jaw Surgery

About a month after we got married Logan and I went to Florida, not for anything fun though, we traveled there to see a world-renowned jaw doctor. I have had problems with my jaw for over five years, seen other doctors, but no relief, so this was the next step. We were hoping that it would be any easy fix and that he would give us good news. I had a number of tests ran, and the doctor at the end told us that my discs (the same type of discs you have in your back) in between my two jaw joints were no longer in between my jaw joints. They had fallen down and were herniated. He informed us that our only option was really to have surgery. So we went home and thought about it for a while, then we decided to take a leap of faith and to schedule the surgery. About a month later my mom and I went back to Florida. We had to be there for 16 days, I had to go before the surgery to get some more tests done and get surgical braces…(thought I was done with the braces thing). Finally the day arrived that I was having surgery, I was nervous, but I was sick of waiting and wondering and Logan was coming that day! The surgery was about 6 hours, they cut open in front of my ears and took out my discs, then they removed fat from my stomach and put in a “fat graft” to protect my bones. They were rubbing on each other and getting smaller. When I woke up I was in a lot of pain, but the pain was different then I was used to, which I think was a good sign. My mouth was wired shut for about four days. I had to eat through a syringe with a long tube on it. I could only have protein shakes and liquids. About 5 days later, we were at a restaurant trying to get me some food. The waiter brought me a sample of some soup, just a chicken soup with no chunks of course and a pina colada. I tried both of them, within minutes my lip got reallllllly swollen and I was having a hard time breathing. They called the ambulance, we would have just drove to the ER but we didn’t know where it was.  To be honest, I don’t really remember much more than that, I know they gave me a bunch of medicine and I got feeling better, and they sent me home with an epi pen, not knowing what caused this reaction. It was pretty scary, feeling like I couldn’t breathe and my mouth was shut closed, which made is more scary. Recovery was rough, lots of pain for a few weeks and a no-chew diet for 3 months. I recovered pretty quickly, although recovery is 9 months long. the pictures are of my discs that they removed.
